18. SILVANA ESTRADA - ABRAZO EP

"After dropping one of the most indomitable records of 2022 so far, Silvana Estrada is back with a gorgeous and gentle four song EP that glows under the charisma of her beautiful voice and timeless lyricism. Each track unravels as a colorful vignette painted against a concrete wall, encapsulating the senses with musings on love, loss and serenity. What really enraptures my addiction to her music is how dynamic her vocal runs are coupled with the quiet acoustic guitars or gentle piano strokes. The contrast is delicate and subtle but it’s akin to umami for the ears."






17. ISABELLA LOVESTORY - AMOR HARDCORE

"‘Amor Hardcore’ rinde homenaje a contemporáneos del neoperreo como Ms. Nina y destaca las nuevas voces de la música latina, como Chucky73, MethMath, SixSex y OH!DULCEARi en un viaje que explora expresiones de amor llenas de luces, sonidos y ritmos contrastados. 16. ILE - NACARILE

" Lyrically more personal and introspective, musically iLe updates traditional forms of Caribbean music using modern production techniques and sounds -- a much welcomed contribution to Latin music besides the tired formulas of mainstream Latin Pop and Latin Urban Music -- a trait she shares with artists like Natalia Lafourcade and Mon Laferte ­-- not coincidentally, two of the highest-profile guests here. 13. JULIETA VENEGAS - TU HISTORIA

"Tu Historia nos deja un mensaje fuerte en cada una de las canciones que lo conforman, a diferencia de temas  como “Me Voy” o “Andar Conmigo”, Julieta Venegas se enfocó a escribir sobre un amor más propio y más personal, dándonos como conclusión aprender a abrazar todo aquello que nos duele y a soltar todo aquello que nos lastima."









12. RAUW ALEJANDRO - SATURNO

"On Saturno, he leans fully into that sound while embracing his reggaeton music roots. But while he may be blending genres on more than a few tracks, Alejandro still pays homage to the Puerto Rican pioneers in the genre by collaborating with them. On his grimy version of “Punto 40,” he puts a rave-ready twist on the classic Baby Rasta track alongside the artist himself. But perhaps the album’s perreo-de-résistance is “De Carolina,” an ode to Alejandro’s hometown in which he teams up with DJ Playero, a pivotal figure in shaping ‘90s reggaeton. Playero’s classic perreo beats collide with Alejandro’s electronic touch in the back-to-the-future banger."





11. MARINA HERLOP - PRIPYAT

"From the snail bride on the cover that alludes to a story from Eastern folklore to the tracklist which jumps from Catalan (abans abans) to Yiddish (kiddisch) to Zulu (ubuntu) to the freeform vocals, the whole record brims with colorful possibilities. These possibilities lie in stark contrast to the barren limbo of Pripyat, a place that has been completely abandoned. But there is still hope. Something new can be imagined. Something sweet can come from nothing "




10. FELI COLINA - EL VALLE ENCANTADO

"El nombre del álbum está inspirado en el Valle Encantado de Salta, un lugar que rompe con el paisaje por poseer su propio ecosistema y de alguna manera este disco viene a crear su propio microclima dentro de una industria musical plagada de sonidos que apuntan al mainstream. Con elementos autóctonos, coros cálidos, una banda compleja y completa y un gran equipo de producción detrás, Feli inventó un lugar encantado, a la manera de J. R. R. Tolkien."









09. MERIDIAN BROTHERS - MERIDIAN BROTHERS & EL GRUPO RENACIMIENTO

"En momentos de quiebre como el que actualmente vivimos, es natural que los artistas volteen al pasado, a veces con nostalgia, otras con curiosidad. Ambos sentimientos llevaron a Meridian Brothers a crear su último álbum: Meridian Brothers & El Grupo Renacimiento, una joya contemporánea donde ambas bandas colaboran para crear un hibrido atemporal donde coexisten los sonidos y las preocupaciones de la década de los 70 de El Grupo Renacimiento con las de la actualidad representadas por Meridian Brothers."

  1. SILVANA ESTRADA - MARCHITA

La cantante mexicana nacida en 1997 tuvo un año esplendoroso. Luego de firmar con los independientes Glasnote Records, lanza "Marchita" producido por el venezolano Gustavo Guerrero. La aventura de este disco la ha llevado a hacer gira todo el año así como una nominación al Grammy Latino a Mejor Nuevo Artista, el cual terminó ganando. A su vez los elogios a "Marchita" pasaron por medios como:  Mondo Sonoro, The New York Times, Jenesaispop, IndieRock.mx, Zona de Obras. The Chicago Tribune, AllMusic, Sputnikmusic, TheNeedleDrop, Rolling Stone, The Rice Threster, NPR, Scaruffi, los usuarios hispanos de RYM, y para de nombrar, para cerrar que merece ser el disco del año, con los palmares merecidos.  


"Por si a estas alturas sigue habiendo alguien despistado… No, ‘Marchita’ no es exactamente un diminutivo que denote que estamos ante un disco festivo, sino lo contrario. Es un álbum que se regodea siempre en un regusto amargo, ya sea el del día después de la pérdida (‘Sabré olvidar’, ‘Marchita’, ‘Tristeza’), en el de saberse irremediablemente enganchado a alguien (’Más o menos antes’, ‘Ser de ti’) o, sencillamente, en el propio drama que conlleva amar (‘La corriente’, ‘Un día cualquiera’). Pero en estas canciones y su lirismo domina por encima de todo la belleza, una que cala como si te atravesara un fantasma que también parece venir de una época inubicable, antigua pero vigente, que parece impropia de una artista de apenas 24 años y con un futuro que se antoja enorme.
